Classic Romance Walked to the Moon

So classic, so romantic, it must be viewed in black and white:
Two lovers on a park bench look toward the moon.
Their hands held together,
They treat the moment with a harmonious of two minds in love.
Their eyes directed to the sky,
to understand their dear hopes and dreams.
“Let’s freeze this moment, darling,
frame it and put it on the bedroom wall”.

Now, re-examine the photo:
Is the moon really that romantic?
Or is it a mere repellent rock and some sand, looming in the cold?
Do the lovers sit overcome by the magnitude of love,
or out of duty for their beautiful black and white photo?
Are their eyes fixed to the skies to view their fears from the stars?

Yes, hand clutched together, the two are apart.
Despite the black and white photos, they know not the person they love.
The lovers stare at the moon,
for this “romantic” rock is closer than the “soulmate” beside.
I plead you two, seize this frozen classic moment,
I beg you, begin to walk.
You’ll make it to the moon and back,
Before your classic black and white clichés will resemble love.
